Grace Marie Perone

Grace Perone, 76, of Albion, NE, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her home in Albion, NE.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Albion, NE with Fr. Matt Gutowski officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Monday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.

Grace Marie Elizabeth Giancarlo Perone, daughter of Anna Marie Botticelli (Masone) and Salvatore Giancarlo, was born on February 19, 1949, in Buffalo, NY. She attended St. Mary's Seminary Catholic School graduating in 1967.

Grace would go on to meet Charles Perone from Middlesex, NJ at Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, NE in 1968. They married in 1970, adding a daughter Michelle and son Jonathan to their family. Like every great Italian mother, she filled her home with love and laughter and found joy in bringing family and friends together at the table to enjoy coffee or a meal.

As amazing as she was as a mother and wife, Grace became the most phenomenal grandmother when Gianna came into the world in 2012. Gianna and her grandma shared a bond like no other becoming "thick as thieves" while spending endless hours creating memories. Their time together was always filled with laughter, singing, dancing, art projects, chatter, and of course their favorite candy.

During her 30-year career as a nurse, Grace was well known among patients and their families as a compassionate and nurturing caregiver. She also was an avid supporter of school activities, including basketball. She rarely missed a game over her husband's coaching career at Sidney St. Patrick's and Albion/Boone Central and followed her son's teams at Northeast Community College and Omaha Benson.  As skilled cake decorator, Grace also helped countless families celebrate graduations, weddings, baby showers, and birthdays throughout the years.

Grace is survived by her husband of fifty-five years Charles of Albion, NE; daughter Michelle (Nate Stednitz) and granddaughter Gianna of Omaha, NE; son Jon (Kayla Bruland) and Vanessa, Noah, and Kallum of Albion, NE; brothers-in-law: Louis (Carol) Perone of Lexington, SC and their children Robert Perone and Cheryl (Kevin) Bartolotti; Brian (Tracy) Perone of Middlesex, NJ and their children Jennifer (Mark Metzger), Michael (Rachel) Perone, and Melanie Perone; and six great nieces and one great nephew; aunts and uncles; many friends; and brothers and sisters.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Anna Marie and Salvatore; in-laws Carmine and Margaret Perone; Aunt Concetta Masone, and brother Peter Botticelli.
