Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE with Deacon Tim Preister officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family requests, in lieu of plants and statues, that memorials be given to the family for later designation.

Gloria Lynn Nienaber, daughter of Christie R. and Genevieve A. (Wirges) Daniels, was born on January 20, 1955, at Boone County Community Hospital in Albion, NE. She attended Pope John Catholic School in Elgin, NE and graduated with the class of 1973. Following high school, Gloria attended nursing school in Omaha, NE where she received her LPN.

On December 12, 1981, Gloria was united in marriage to the love of her life, Les Nienaber, in Petersburg, NE. From this union Gloria was blessed with two daughters, Meghan and Holly. She was a member of Lindsay Holy Family Catholic Church. The couple lived and raised their family in Newman Grove, NE for 36 years. After retiring, Gloria and Les then moved to Monroe, NE permanently, where they have lived for the past nine years at their lake house.

Gloria started her nursing career as an LPN at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, then later at Boone County Health Center. She then joined the packhouse in Norfolk where she was the plant nurse and was later transferred to Madison Foods. She was then promoted to Human Resources at Madison Foods/IBP and later Hormel, where she worked until 1994. She then helped Les run Bud's Sanitary Services, which they bought from their good friend, Bud Albracht. She enjoyed every minute of running Bud's Sanitary with Les for 36 years until their retirement on January 1, 2017.

Gloria had a ZEST FOR LIFE! She enjoyed puzzles, Scrabble, Backgammon, Words With Friends, a good book in the sun, and of course partying with her many … many friends. Anyone she met would immediately gain a "Gloria" nickname. Nothing was sacred and no one was safe. Everyone who knew her would say she was the life of the party. She was wonderfully outgoing, incredibly smart, and had the perfect wit to her. She always wanted her family to remember, "Love you more."

Gloria is survived by her husband: Les Nienaber of Monroe, NE; two daughters: Meghan (Byron) Flood of Newman Grove, NE; Holly (Daryl) Guthard of Newman Grove, NE; four grandchildren: Owen and Bo Flood; Sophia and Mason Guthard; three sisters: Shirley Petsche of Petersburg, NE; Mona (Ted) Thieman of Petersburg, NE; Carolyn Klein of South Sioux, NE; brother: Les (Jody) Daniels of Petersburg, NE; along with numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; other relatives; and many … many friends.

She was preceded by her parents; brothers-in-law: Don Petsche; Don Borer; Bill Nienaber; Pat Nienaber; and Don Nienaber.
