Gerald "Jerry" Francis Reardon

Gerald "Jerry" F. Reardon, 61, of David City, NE passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at CHI Health -Bergan Mercy in Omaha, NE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE with Rev. Matt Gutowski officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Gerald "Jerry" Francis Reardon, son of Norman Joseph and Mary Lucille (Johnson) Reardon, was born on September 8, 1962 at Genoa, NE. Jerry grew up in St. Edward, NE and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1981.

Following graduation, Jerry entered the workforce. Throughout his life he held several different jobs including, working for the City of St. Edward, the local co-op, Lindsay Manufacturing, and most recently from BD Medical in Columbus, NE where he retired from in 2019.

Jerry was united in marriage to Karen Weatherly on March 24, 2007 at the Methodist church in David City, NE. During their marriage they lived in St. Edward; David City, NE; Osceola, NE; and recently moved back to David City. Jerry was a member of a bowling team in Columbus for several years. In addition to bowling, he loved traveling, following the Nebraska Huskers and Minnesota Vikings, and watching competition cooking shows on television. He was also a member of the Catholic faith.

Jerry is survived by his wife: Karen Reardon of David City, NE; daughter: Kathryn Reardon of David City, NE; son: Zachary Reardon of David City, NE; seven siblings: Roselyn (Mick) Christensen of Omaha, NE; Mary Jo (Joe) Fischer of Edmond, OK; John Samuel Reardon of St. Edward, NE; Jane (Monty) Olson of St. Edward, NE; Mike Reardon of Columbus, NE; Cindy (Tom) Garry of Elkhorn, NE; Annette (John) Bushaw of Lincoln, NE; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law: Susan Reardon.
