Gerald John Buettner

Gerald J. "Jerry" Buettner, 59 of Helena, MT died March 23, 2021 at St. Peters Hospital in Helena.

Graveside service will be at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Primrose, NE with Fr. Mark Tomasiewicz officiating.  Visitation will be prior from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE.  Following the services, the family invites everyone to the Primrose Community Building for a meal and fellowship.

Levander Funeral Home, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Gerald (Jerry) John Buettner, son of Walter and Viola (Morris) Buettner wa born August 28, 1961 at Albion NE. He attended school at District 59, a one room school in rural Primrose and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1979.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and wood working. Jerry married Sonja Leslie in 1987, they had two sons, Chase and Cole. They later divorced.

Jerry is survived by his two sons: Chase Buettner of Norfolk NE; Cole Buettner (fiancé Courtney Roulo) of Oscoda, MI; granddaughter Holley Gabriel; five brothers Ron (Diane) Buettner of Cedar Rapids; Richard (Mary) Buettner of Columbus NE; Arnie (Shari) Buettner of Albion NE; Bob (Janet) Buettner of Hickman NE; Mark Buettner of South Bend NE; three sisters: Marie Jenkins of Lincoln NE; Joan (Bill) Arkfeld of Madison NE; Patty (Rick) Kolm of Columbus NE; sister-in-law: MaryAnn Buettner of Cedar Rapids along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Merlin; brother Harold; infant brother John Paul; sisters-in-law: Janice Buettner and Becky Buettner; brother-in-law Ed Jenkins; and nephew Jimmy Buettner.
