Genevieve "Jane" Alfreda Goetzinger, the daughter of Frank Sr. and Mary (Buettel) Seier was born February 17, 1918 in Petersburg, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg. She received her elementary education from St. Johns Catholic School in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1937.

On April 25, 1939, Jane was united in marriage to Walter F. Goetzinger at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg, Nebraska. They lived in Raeville, Nebraska for their first year of marriage and then moved south of Petersburg and lived on several farms until Walter retired in 1976 after 28 years of farming. They moved into town and lived there until Walter died 2001. At that time, Jane moved to Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion, Nebraska.

She was a housewife and worked at Olson's Steakhouse and Cunningham's Cafe. She then worked for Petersburg Public Schools as a cook in the kitchen, librarian and teacher's aid for 32 years. Jane was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, member of St. Johns Altar Society and served as president and treasurer throughout the years. Jane was also a member of the Knotty Pine Bowling Team.

She had many hobbies that she enjoyed, including gardening, bowling, crocheting, cooking for family and loved ones, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jane died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, Nebraska.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Mary Jane Redler and husband James of David City, NE; Judy Ann Bader and husband Fred of Norfolk, NE; Sandy Kay Hilger and husband Donald of David City, NE; 1 sister: Irene Oberbrachling of Elgin, NE; 1 brother: Frank Seier Jr. and wife Marjorie of Petersburg, NE; 3 brother-in-laws: Al Luettel of Petersburg, NE; Jim Goetzinger and wife Peggy of Boone, IA; Harold Beierman of Albion, NE; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2001, parents, 3 sisters: Vera Schumacher, Delores Staska Zoucha, and Mildred Luettel, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, father-in-law and mother-in-law, and 5 brother-in-laws.
