Eli Joseph Porter, son of Jon and Joann (Wynia) Porter, came roaring into this world on November 19, 2011 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE. Eli was the first of many things. He was the first born. He made first time parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and he did not slow down throughout his life. Eli was baptized and became a member of the Family at Zion Lutheran Church on May 13, 2012. Although small in stature, Eli had an enormous personality which overflowed into every part of his life, and the life of everyone he came in contact with.
To list the things Eli loved to do in a single paragraph would not be possible, because he loved doing anything and everything, as long as he was doing it alongside his family and friends. He enjoyed music and created a library of his own music videos for a YouTube channel that was yet to be created. He had favorite songs to sing and dance to by Elton John, Queen and many other artists. He was strangely soothed by the music of Eric Church.
Eli had the ability to march to the beat of his own drum. He was able to see the world from a different perspective, giving him the potential to do great things in this world, far beyond the numerous lives he was able to impact in his short nine years here with us. He was anxious and eager to do…so much so that he often had trouble sitting still and not fidgeting, which created some challenges for him, but also pushed him to success in many other ways. His creativity and imagination had no bounds when he was scheming or pondering an experiment. He was extremely thoughtful, and often drew pictures with special notes for those he loved. Throughout all of his adventures and schemes he was considerate of others. He loved to sneak to a store and return home with goodies for everyone; not just himself.
Eli leaves behind many to mourn his loss, yet celebrate his life, including his parents Joann and Jon; sister and brother Skylar and Tate; paternal grandparents Randy and Jeni Porter of Albion; maternal grandmother Carol Wynia of Yankton, SD; aunts and uncles: Tessa Porter of Papillion, NE; Dori (Joshua) Harris of York, NE; Niki DeFries of Springfield, SD; John Wynia of Papillion, NE; great-grandmothers: Norma Porter of Albion, NE and Marcleen Wynia of Springfield, SD; along with great-aunts, great-uncles, many cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was welcomed into heaven by his maternal grandfather Gary Wynia; great-grandparents: Joseph Porter, PeeWee and Ann Kinzer; Gerben Wynia, Wyland and Lois Clark.
