Elaine Marion Boden

Elaine M. Boden, 92, of Primrose, NE died Friday, June 27, 2025, at her home near Primrose, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Levander Funeral Home, Albion, NE with Pastor Roy Schilousky. Burial will follow at Dublin Cemetery, Primrose, NE. The family invites you to a lunch following at the Primrose Fire Hall.

Elaine Marion Boden was born to Robert and Pearl Martinsen at their home northwest of Primrose, NE on February 23, 1933. Elaine was baptized at the Primrose Presbyterian Church. Elaine being the oldest child on the Martinsen family farm took on many responsibilities at a very young age, beginning to work in the fields with her father at age eight and helping her mother with cooking, gardening, canning, raising chickens, and taking care of younger siblings. Elaine graduated from Primrose High School in 1950. She then attended Wayne State College to become a teacher and taught at country schools in the Primrose area.

Elaine married Donald Boden on February 24, 1952. Elaine and Donald raised their three children Dawn, James, and Andrea. The family lived on a farm northeast of Primrose. Elaine was very involved throughout her life supporting the day-to-day farm operations of Pepper, Tub, and Jimmy, and then more recently helping Ann and Dawn with their cow/calf operation. Elaine served on many community organizations (school boards, church boards, Primrose Auxiliary, and Primrose Alumni Association).

Elaine enjoyed playing cards, writing letters with her beautiful handwriting, cross-stitching, gardening, canning, cooking, riding in side-by-sides, and being outside when farm and ranch projects were taking place. Elaine loved traveling with family and friends to many locations (National Parks, Hawaii, Alaskan Cruise, Canada, etc.).

Elaine is survived by her daughters: Dawn (Richard) Rove of Encino, CA and Andrea Boden of Cedar Rapids, NE; sisters: Roberta Grady of Twisp, WA; Shirley (Arnie) Mahoney of Missouri Valley, IA; brother: Jim (Diane) Martinsen of Primrose, NE; sister-in-law: Mary Siebler of Fremont, NE; along with many very special nieces and nephews; three grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband: Donald "Pepper" Boden; son: James Boden; parents: Robert and Pearl Martinsen; sister: Karen (Ed) Miller; brothers-in-law: Lloyd "Bows" (Gloria) Boden; Vernon "Tub" Boden; Al Siebler; sisters-in-law: Gladys (Jerry) Korth; Ethel (Norman) Young; niece: Sally Boden Miller; nephews: Cary Boden and Dan Young.
