Dorothy A. Taylor

Dorothy A. Taylor, 61, of Albion, NE passed away after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at her home in Albion, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Albion, NE with Pastor Keith Birch officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will 1 hour prior to service time at church.

Levander Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Ann Taylor, daughter of Lyle Glen and Lola Elaine (Taylor) Primus was born, February 17, 1961, in Tilden, NE. Dorothy attended school in Spalding until coming to Cedar Rapids. She later received her GED. Dorothy received an associate degree in business/ accounting from Central Community College.

On August 18, 1978, Dorothy married Robert E. Taylor in Vermillion, South Dakota. The two made their home in Albion and raised their two children. Dorothy had a variety of jobs to keep her busy; she worked at Daylight Donuts, Lindsay manufacturing, Big A Auto Parts, H & R Block, and then as an in home health care aid. Once she got older, she babysat and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy had a big heart; she loved her family and friends dearly. She would volunteer at CNCS with the commodities program and cooking for the Baptist Church Meals on Wheels program. She loved gardening, canning produce, sewing, and embroidering blankets. Dorothy will be remembered for never meeting a stranger and her kindness.

Dorothy is survived by her husband: Robert E. Taylor of Albion, NE; children: Robert L. (Tina) Taylor of Columbus, NE, Jessica (Timothy) Casper of Albion, NE; grandchildren: Rylee Iburg and girlfriend Alyssa, Danica and Ashlyn Taylor all of Columbus, NE, Brogan, Brystal, Copelan and Corrigan Casper all of Albion, NE; special friend since childhood: Nancy Wood of Waco, NE, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, in laws: Don and Iris Taylor, infant daughter: Sheila, granddaughter Nevaeh Hope; and other relatives.
