Dorothy M. Rieck, 89, of Albion, NE formerly of Primrose, NE died Friday, January 8, 2021 at Boone County Health Center, Albion, NE.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at UCC-Congregational Church, Albion, NE with Rev. Mary Avidano officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the UCC-Congregational Church. Social distancing and current Covid-19 DHM's will be followed at both the visitation and funeral, and masks will be expected to be worn.
Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Mae Rieck, the daughter of Albert and Cora Mae (Dawkins) Bader was born on March 28, 1931 at Monroe, NE. She attended Albion Public School.
On March 12, 1950 Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Herman Rieck of Cedar Rapids, NE at the Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. They made their home west and north of Primrose, NE. Dorothy spent her days as a homemaker, wife, and mother of four sons. Robert died in 1962 when the boys were all small. She continued to raise the boys by herself. After raising her family, she worked many different places.
Dorothy enjoyed fishing, her Angels, her flowers especially Peonies, bingo with an occasional bus trip to gamble, embroidery, and anytime she spent with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her four sons: Robert (Joyce) of Albion, NE; Dwight (Rose) of Loomis, NE; Virgil (Vanessa) of Elm Creek, NE; Rodney (Joan) Spalding, NE; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; half brother Fred Bader of Norfolk, NE; other brothers and sisters; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; brothers John (wife Gladys), and Kenneth Bader; sister Bonnie Zabka; and half-brother Albert Bader.
