Donna Louise Werts

Donna L. Werts, 86, of St. Edward, NE, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center-East in Lincoln, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, NE, with Rev. Vern Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Edward, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Donna Louise Werts, daughter of Herschel and Onie (Vanarsdal) Grape, was born on September 5, 1932 at St. Edward, NE. She was baptized at the St. Edward Presbyterian Church. Donna attended school at St. Edward Public and graduated from there in 1949.

Donna was united in marriage to Duane "Dewey" Joseph Werts on February 4, 1950 at the St. Edward Catholic Church. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in St. Edward and was blessed with three children: Rick, Diane, and Doug. Donna worked as a district manager of Fuller Brush as well as later working for her daughter at Unique Expressions.

Donna loved spending time crocheting, painting ceramics, embroidery, reading, gardening and birdwatching. Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Edward.

Donna is survived by her three children: Rick (Connie) Werts of St. Edward, NE; Diane (Mark) Ahlers of Columbus, NE; Doug (partner Michael Reznicek) Werts of Berwick, ME; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband Dewey; granddaughter-in-law: Michele Kaspar Werts; eight sisters and one brother.
