Dolores Irene Schack

Dolores I. Schack, 91, of Albion, NE formerly of St. Edward, NE passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Boone County Health Center, Albion, NE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE with Rev. Matt Gutowski officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Dolores Irene Schack, daughter of Leo and Catherine (Redler) Mannlein, was born August 11, 1933 in Albion, NE. She attended country school during her elementary years and then attended Albion High School.

On November 18, 1952, Dolores married the love of her life, Dean Edward Schack, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, NE. She worked as a receptionist at the St. Edward Medical Clinic for Dr. Bill Reardon, before working at the Albion Medical Clinic for Dr. Charles Sweet. Dolores later worked at the Loup Power office in St. Edward, NE before retiring in 2003.

Dolores was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Edward Altar Society, and the Legion of Mary. Throughout her life she enjoyed embroidering, working in her yard with her many beautiful flowers, and spending time with her family.

Dolores is survived by her four children: Denny (Cathy) Schack of St. Edward, NE; Rick (Jayne) Schack of Albion, NE; Joni (Dan) Smith of Central City, NE; Dan (Shelly) Schack of Hickman, NE; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Dorothy Pfeifer of Norfolk, NE; Kathleen (Earl) Stephens of St. Edward, NE; Mary Dunlap of Albion, NE; Barb Miller of Eugene, OR; one brother: Larry Mannlein of Prescott, AZ; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dean in 2012; one sister: Rosie Stewart; and two brothers: Don Mannlein and Gene Mannlein; three sisters-in-law: Betty Mannlein; Carol Mannlein; Sally Mannlein; and four brothers-in-law: Kenny Pfeifer; Keith Stewart; Jerry Dunlap; and John Miller.
