Dolores "Dee" M. (Bley) Nielsen, 95, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Springs Ranch Senior Living, Colorado Springs, CO.

Graveside Service will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2025, at Rose Hill Cemetery Newman Grove, NE with Pastor Claire Meyer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke's Lutheran Church General Fund, 2315 "I" Street, Omaha, Nebraska, 68107.

Levander Funeral Home of Newman Grove is in charge of the arrangements.

Born on July 4, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska, Dolores "Dee" Mae Nielsen was a lifelong resident deeply rooted in her community. A passionate singer, she lent her voice to numerous choral groups including the Omaha Symphonic Chorus, the Voices of Omaha, the Celebration of Life Choir, and the St. Luke's Lutheran Church Choir—where she was a devoted member for over 75 years. Dee found joy in simple pleasures: walking, flower gardening, and nurturing the relationships that defined her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her son: Scott D. Nielsen (Michele); grandsons: Stephen (Nicole) Nielsen; Michael (Ana) Nielsen; and Robert (Sarah) Nielsen; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nephews: Chris Nielsen; Mike (Karen) Nielsen; and Greg (Susie) Nielsen.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Douglas A. Nielsen; her daughter: Gale S. Nielsen; and her parents: Wilson K. Bley and Etta M. Vanzago.
