Dixie Rae Niemann

Dixie R. Niemann, 69, of St. Edward, NE died on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Genoa Community Hospital in Genoa, NE.

A public visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward, NE. A private family graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Edward, NE.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.

Dixie Rae Niemann, daughter of Harry and Doris (Beckstrom) Niemann was born on November 19, 1953, at Albion, NE. She attended St. Edward Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1972.

Following graduation Dixie followed her passion for helping others and became a CNA/CMA. She worked at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward as well as the hospital and assisted living in Genoa. Later she worked for the St. Edward Advance paper.

Dixie was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in St. Edward and the bowling team at the assisted living. She enjoyed giving out treats to the kids and being around her family.

Dixie is survived by her sisters: Vicki Schluntz of Huntley, NE, and Michelle (Steve) Ossowski of Roca, NE; brothers: Max Niemann of Lincoln, NE, and David (Pamala) Niemann of St. Edward, NE; sister-in-law: Tracey Niemann of Norfolk, NE; seven nieces and nephews: Katie (Andy) Laska; Nichole, Taylor (Mathew), and Zac Niemann; Seth (Serenity), Travis, and Ryleigh Ossowski; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Jessica Niemann; and brother-in-law: LeRoy Schluntz.
