Richard "Dick" Donald Dozler was born on December 22, 1960, in Albion, NE, to Donald Andrew and Ella Mae (Penne) Dozler. He graduated from Albion High School in 1979 and later attended Hastings Community College, completing his studies in 1981.
Dick spent a few years in Gothenburg, NE, where he worked as a mechanic, before returning to Albion to do what he truly enjoyed, farming. He farmed west of Albion, raising sheep, pigs, and cattle, and took pride in the work (and likely had opinions on how it should be done, too).
Dick was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He loved playing foosball, horseshoes, darts, and sitting down for a good card game, where he was known for saying "good cards, poorly played." Dick will be remembered for his straightforward nature, his dry sense of humor, and the way he showed up for the people he cared about whether that meant lending a hand, offering advice, or just quietly being there.
Above all, Dick loved his family. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids and never missed an opportunity to brag about them. From attending sporting events to taking road trips just to spend time together, he was always willing to make time to support his children. He treasured the annual Dozler vacation each summer with his kids, siblings, and their families. A tradition filled with laughter and lasting memories.
He is survived by his six children: Sarah (Josh) Peter of Albion, NE; Kayla (Dyrek) Zoucha of Clarks, NE; Trista (Jim) Lorang of Mount Vernon, SD; Melissa (George) Shafer of Buffalo, WY; Macey Dozler of Cedar Rapids, NE; and Tye Dozler of Albion, NE; 11 grandchildren: Shannah and Jayla Iburg; Eli and Adaleese Peter; Alexi and Micah Zoucha; Sydney and Haylee Lorang; Henry and Grant Shafer; and Lexis Dozler; with one more grandchild on the way: baby boy Lorang; siblings: David (Lisa) Dozler of Albion, NE; Connie Asche of Beaman, IA; and Cyndee (David) Merrell of St. Edward, NE; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Don and Ella Mae Dozler; grandparents; and his brother-in-law, Steve Asche; as well as many aunts and uncles.
