Delwyn Duane Lough

Delwyn D. Lough, 83, of Albion, NE passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society-Albion in Albion, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE with Rev. Mary Frohs officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE.

Delwyn Duane Lough, son of Duane and Nina Mae (Fleek) Lough, was born August 6, 1935, at Loretto, NE. He attended school at District 72 in Loretto through the 8 ^th grade and graduated from Albion High School in 1953.

On September 25, 1955, Delwyn married Jean Froistad at Immanuel-Zion Lutheran South Branch Church. They made their home in Albion, NE where they were blessed with three children: Linda, Deborah and Dennis. Delwyn worked for DX Station from 1953-1959, Redigas Propane from 1959-1964, Norgas Propane from 1964-1969, General Telephone from 1969-1993, Albion Radio Shack from 1993-2010 and Albion Locker from 2010-2019.

Delwyn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, was a 42-year member of the Albion Fire Department and served on the Albion Airport Authority from 1969-2019. He was a longtime member of the Albion Jaycee's and Young Men's Club, coached Youth Baseball and Legion Baseball for several years and was a member of various fast-pitch softball and bowling teams for many years. He enjoyed watching local baseball and fishing when time allowed.

He is survived by his children: Linda (Robert) Griesman, Deborah (James) Mitchell, Dennis (Tammy) Lough, all of Albion, NE; grandchildren: Nate Spiegel, Matt (Kristi) Griesman, Trisha Hudson, David (Ann) Lough, Tanya (Derek) Cave, Chandra Griesman; great-grandchildren: Cole and Jacoby Griesman, Dylan, Grant, and Carter Spiegel, Melia, Quade and McCoy Hudson, Olivia, Jake and Mya Lough; baby girl Cave arriving in August; sister: Joan (John) Smith of Albion, NE; sister-in-law: Connie Lough of Eureka, CA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Delwyn was preceded in death by his wife: Jean Lough in 1985; parents: Duane Lough, Nina Mae Lough and stepmother: LaVerne Lough; parents-in-law: Jake Sr. and Anna Froistad; brother: Vyron Lough; sister: Nina Meyer; brother-in-law: Jake Froistad Jr.; sister-in-law: Helga Froistad; and granddaughter-in-law: Joan Griesman.
