Constance "Connie" E. Glaser, 84, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, NE.
Committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025, with Deacon Ron Glaser officiating at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Spalding, NE. Military Rites will be conducted by James Kessler American Legion Post #299 of Spalding, NE and the Army Funeral Honor Guard.
Levander Funeral Home of Spalding, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Constance "Connie" Eileen Glaser was born on August 26, 1940, in Spalding, NE, the youngest child of Constantena (Thramer) and Carl Glaser. She attended Pibel grade school District 9 and graduated from Spalding Academy. Following graduation, Connie entered the Benedictine Convent in Atchison, KS, but did not complete final vows. She then served in the United States Army for four years as a communication specialist and ended her career as a Sargent. She was stationed at Fort Sam Houston in Texas. Following her time in the army, she attended Western Illinois University and received her teaching certificate and was Dean of Women at a private high school in Illinois.
Connie later joined her sister Kathleen in Chino, CA, where she worked as a surgical technician until she retired because of disability. She and Kathleen returned to Nebraska and primarily lived in Fullerton, NE. Following Kathleen's death, Connie lived at the Greeley Care Home and Community Health Services in Burwell. Connie was an ardent writer of poetry and won many awards for her work. Her hobbies included playing cards and creating latch hook rugs.
Connie is survived by her sister: Roseanne Wardyn of Aurora, IL; sister-in-law: Linda Deems of Rossville, GA; her long-time dog companion: Charlie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Leonard (Mary); Bernard (Joan); Harold; Wilfred; Dennis; and sister: Kathleen.
