Clinton James Broberg, son of Samuel Arthur and Ingred Hazel (Berglund) Broberg, was born on February 12, 1940, in Tilden, NE. Clint grew up on the family farm north of Newman Grove. He attended grade school at District 38 and then graduated from Newman Grove High School with the class of 1957.

Following high school, Clint farmed with his father and brothers and, for a time, worked at the Newman Grove Bank. In 1961, he moved to Omaha to attend Grace Bible Institute, graduating in 1966. He then returned home to continue farming with his family.

Clint attended Rose Hill Evangelical Free Church in rural Newman Grove, where, at an early age, he placed his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. His faith remained a central part of his life, guiding him in his work, relationships, and service to others.

It was through church that Clint met Verna Lindgren. The two became acquainted in the summer of 1972. Although they were interested in one another, both desired to follow the Lord’s leading and remain faithful to His plan for their lives. While Verna was in Japan, they exchanged letters and spent much time praying about their futures. In time, they came to the conclusion that marriage was the path the Lord was leading them to follow. They were married on September 22, 1973, in Oakland, NE.

In 1974, Clint and Verna would travel to Oakland on weekends where Clint began serving as pastor of the Oakland Evangelical Free Church. After completing his ministry in Oakland, Clint and Verna returned to the Newman Grove area, where Clint resumed farming. Later during their years attending Faith Community Church in O’Neill they had a mission involving the video ministry “Walk Through the Bible”. For many years, Clint and Verna faithfully served in this ministry. Later, Clint continued taking loads to Omaha for distribution. When he was no longer able to make the trips himself, he arranged for Pastor Peter Sample of Neligh to take the materials to Omaha. Throughout their marriage, they remained deeply committed to their faith, their church, and serving their Lord and Savior. Their lives reflected a desire to faithfully follow the Lord in both their everyday work and their service to others.

Clint is survived by his brother: Gordon (Delores) Broberg of rural Newman Grove, NE; sister-in-law Suzanne Lindgren of Lexington, KY; nephews: Roger (Judy) Broberg, Loren (Bev) Broberg and Doug Broberg, all of Tilden; Michael (Melody) Broberg of Adams, WI; Kevin Broberg of Norfolk, NE; John (Maureen) Lindgren of Pittsburg, PN; nieces: Janelle (Jim) Sanft of Columbia, IL; Kathy (Larry) Schick of Meadow Grove, NE; Connie (Dave) Moody of Mooresville, NC; Karyn Lindgren of Chicago, IL; Kirsten and Natalie Lindgren of Lexington, KY; along with several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Ingred Broberg; parents-in-law E. Walter and Gertrude Lindgren; wife Verna in 2021; two brothers: Roger in infancy and Robert (Gwynette) Broberg; brothers-in-law: James (Annette) Lindgren, and John Lindgren; and nephew Robert Lindgren.
