Clifford "Cliff" L. Palmer

Clifford "Cliff" L. Palmer, 78 of Albion, NE, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026 at his home in Albion, NE.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating.

Levander Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clifford L. Palmer son of Guy and Dorothy (Short) Palmer was born on June 20, 1948 at the family home in Albion, NE. Cliff attended school at Albion Public School. Following graduation from high school he attended college and received his degree in auto body work.

On March 24, 1968 Cliff was united in marriage to Susan Thomson at Zion Lutheran Church, Albion, NE. The couple lived in Albion where Cliff did auto body work at Sullivan Motors until he built his own business, Palmer Paint and Body. He later worked at Nebraska Pig and White Star Oil. Cliff served his community by being a volunteer fire department and driving the ambulance for EMTS.

Cliff and Susie loved to go camping and raising their many dogs throughout the years. He also enjoyed watching stock car races, and NASCAR, he was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. Cliff also enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis, there was always music on in the house. In these last years Cliff spent his time driving his dogs around, and playing his slots on the iPad.

Cliff is survived by his two children: Heidi (Dave) Shanno of Albion, NE; Clint Palmer of Albion, NE; two grandchildren: Darien Shanno of Spalding, NE; Cody (Whitney) Shanno of Blair, NE; three great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Ellie, and Alora; sister Sandy (Frank) Cook of Baker City, OR; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Susie, brother Jim (Maxine) Palmer, and brother-in-law Kenny Thomson.
