Christa Gisela Uttecht

Christa G. Uttecht, 92, of Albion, NE, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center, Albion, NE.

Services will be held at a later date in Bella Vista, AR with inurnment at the Bella Vista Cemetery.

Levander Funeral Home of Elgin, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Christa Gisela Uttecht, the daughter of Kurt Walter and Katharina (Guth) Schubert, was born on October 7, 1928 at Heidenau, Germany. Christa attended school in Germany and graduated from high school.

Christa was united in marriage to Ruben Uttecht, a U.S. Soldier, in Germany. The couple continued to live in Germany while Ruben finished his military service. Later the couple made their home in Mitchell, SD, Chadron, NE, Lincoln, NE and retiring in Bella Vista, AR. Following Ruben's death, Christa moved to Albion, NE to be closer to family. While living in Mitchell, Christa assisted with catering. Later, when the couple moved to Chadron, they owned and operated a local motel. Christa also worked in a high school cafeteria when they lived in Lincoln.

Christa enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Bella Vista German Club.

Those surviving Christa are her three children: Lucille (Larry) Waldman of Shaker Heights, OH; Deb (Doug) Jones of Elgin, NE; Mark (Theresa) Uttecht of West Springfield, MA; five grandchildren: David Waldman; Jennifer VonBonn; Jeffrey Waldman; Christopher Jones; Lily Uttecht; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ruben; and one sister: Emmi Pabst.
