Carl R. Hydorn, Sr.

Carl R. Hydorn Sr., 84, of St. Edward, NE, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Cloverlodge Care Center, St. Edward, NE.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward, Nebraska with Rev. Mary Avidano officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Military Rites will be conducted by Crosier American Legion Post #226, Army Honor Guard, and the American Legion Riders.  Inurnment will be at a later date.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Carl R. Hydorn, Sr. was the son of George and Edna (Harper) Hydorn, and was born on June 21, 1935 at Garnett, KS. He attended school at a little school outside of Garnett, KS.

On March 29, 1959 Carl was united in marriage to Alice C. Lambeth. They lived in the Iola, KS area, and later moved to Americas, KS, Olpe, KS, Hartford, KS, and St. Edward, NE.  Carl worked as a truck driver for Dolly Madison Cakes in Emporia, KS for 31 year.

Carl served in the United States Army National Guards, and was a member of Teamsters.  He enjoyed and was very good at woodworking, and loved to fish

Carl is survived by son: Carl (Becky) Hydorn Jr. of St. Edward, NE; grandson Andrew (Sevita) Gillis of Omaha, NE; great-granddaughter Adalyn; two step grandchildren: Jessica (Mike) Respi of Pleasanton, NE; LeeAnn Kopel of Dallas, TX; five great-grandchildren: Marissa, Calleigh, Amelia, Brandon, and Karma; two nieces: Joyce Wright of Iola, KS; Karen (Mick) Winner of Iola, KS; along with several great and great- great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, brother Clarence "Tuffy", and an infant brother Frank.
