Brooke Ruth Groth, 17, of Monroe, NE, along with her mother Lisa Groth, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 near Monroe as the result of an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Boone County Event Center in Albion, NE with Rev. Mary Frohs officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery, Oakland, NE at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Brooke Ruth Groth, daughter of Steven and Lisa (Gustafson) Groth was born on June 12, 2002 in Fremont, NE. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. Brooke attended Boone Central Elementary and High School. She was an active Senior involved in FFA, FCCLA, National Honor Society, Softball, Basketball, BC Club, Musical, and a supporter of other school activities.
Brooke was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion and was active in the youth group. She was also involved in 4-H and summer softball league in Columbus, NE. Brooke took pride in all she did. Her 4-H lambs were her pride and joy. She was an expert show woman, earning numerous top honors and awards in the livestock community. Brooke was recently named Senior Sheep Showman at the Nebraska State Fair. She was the current FCCLA Chapter President, FFA Chapter Reporter and Parliamentarian, and co-captain of the Boone Central Softball team. Brooke got the privilege to attend national FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN. She lettered four years in softball and participated in basketball for three years. Brooke's plans were to attend the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD and major in Occupational Therapy. She was going to receive a substantial scholarship there due to academics. She was looking forward to helping children in her profession.
Brooke lived her short life to the fullest and gave 100% in everything she did. She always gave her whole heart and always had a competitive edge, especially when she was on the mound pitching. She was a joy to watch. Brooke was a fun-loving girl who always had a smile on her beautiful face. More than anything Brooke loved her family.
Brooke is survived by her father Steve Groth, brother Ty, and sisters Hannah and Audra of Monroe, NE; grandmother Cheryl Gustafson of West Point, NE; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lisa Groth, grandfather Gerald Gustafson, grandparents Edwin and Elinor Groth, aunt Lori Gustafson, and uncle Doug Groth.
