Brian D. Wright, 79, of Albion, NE, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at his home in Albion, NE. He was much beloved by his family and he had many friends, storyteller that he was.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Saving Grace Bible Church in Albion, NE with Pastor T.J. Rexilius officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #162 and V.F.W. Post #736 of Albion, NE. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE is in charge of arrangements.
Brian Dion Wright, son of Raymond and Alpharetta (Lueshen) Wright was born January 20, 1940 at Pilger, NE. He graduated from Fullerton High School and attended Wayne State College. He married Catherine Johnson on June 2, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. Brian served in the Army from 1963-65 and was a lifelong and passionate patriot.
Brian has long been very involved in the Albion community, coaching baseball and soccer, serving on the school board at Boone Central and on the Zion Lutheran Church Council. He was heavily involved with his church, Saving Grace, and with his church family. He also loved sports, was an avid hunter, and loved restoring his 55 Chevy. He was a member of the Nebraska Rod and Custom Association and he and Cathy loved to cruise in that car.
Brian is lovingly remembered by his wife Catherine of Albion, NE, daughter Becky of Milwaukee, WI, son Michael of Lincoln, grandchildren Mia (fiancé Jerad Lemkau), Devin, and Lance, brothers Steve (Pam) of Albion, NE and Stu (Ruth) of Greeley, CO, sister Carol Wright of Grant, NE, sister-in-law Patty Wright of Kearney, NE, as well as lifelong friends and family Judy Harder and family, Don and Claudia Johnson and family, Dave and Patty Hellbusch all of Albion, NE, the coffee guys at Pump and Pantry, and his bus kids.
Brian is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Alpharetta Wright, brother Vincent, an infant sister, and his brother-in-law and lifetime hunting partner, Bob Harder.
