Bonna F. Cox

Bonna F. Cox, 77, of Cedar Rapids, NE, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, NE.

Per Bonna’s wishes she was cremated. There will be no services at this time.

Levander Funeral Home of Cedar Rapids, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Bonna Faye Cox was born on February 5, 1949 in Chamberlain, South Dakota, the daughter of Ivan and Dola (Lewis) Judd. She passed surrounded by her family on July, 19th at the Bryan hospital in Lincoln, Ne.

Bonna received her education in Vivian and Kennebec, SD. She met her husband, Ralph Cox, of 48 years, where they wed on December 18th, 1972 also in Kennebec, SD. They traveled to Farmer City, Illinois in 1978 where they stayed until 1981, when they decided to head back to South Dakota. They ended up residing in Brookings where Bonna managed the trailer park they lived in, until April of 2003. She had various jobs after. In 2011, they made the decision to move to Cedar Rapids, Ne, following their daughter and lived there for the remainder of their lives.

Bonna was a member of the NRA and a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club as she was an avid fisher. She also enjoyed bowling with her team in Spalding, doing puzzle books, watching soap operas, attending church in Albion and spending time with family and friends.

Bonna is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Justin) Hanson of Platte Center, Ne, Christina (Jeff) LaCroix of Aberdeen, SD, 9 grandchildren, Angelique, Sadie, Audrey, Damon, Shelby, Skylar, Sebastian, Ledger, and Lance, and 2 great grandchildren, Korbin and Sonora. Bonna is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, one son, Chrys, two daughters, Jennifer and Shannon, and various other family members.
