Bobby Lee Kemper

Bobby L. Kemper, 52, of St. Edward, NE passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, surrounded by his family at CHI Health – Bergan Mercy in Omaha, NE.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Edward, NE with Fr. Matt Gutowski officiating.  Burial will be at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Crosier American Legion Post #226, Navy Funeral Honor Guard, and American Legion Riders. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Lee Kemper, son of Neal E. and Beverly E. (Wemhoff) Kemper was born December 2, 1972 in Albion, NE. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed into the Catholic faith at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE. He attended St. Edward Public School and graduated with the class of 1991. Following graduation, Bobby joined the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge, Bobby attended college in Omaha where he graduated with his associate's degree in HVAC. He worked for Aksarben Heating and Air until moving back to St. Edward, NE to operate Kemper Heating and Air.

Bobby was a member of the St. Edward American Legion Post #226 and NRA. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, hunting, and fishing. Some of his passions were working on classic cars, off roading, and of course spending time with his family and friends.

Bobby is survived by his two children: Kaylei (Jess McDonald) Kemper of Columbus, NE; Kanen Shemek of Lincoln, NE; parents: Neal and Bev Kemper of St. Edward, NE; three brothers: Keith (Jen) Kemper of Virginia Beach, VA; Jared (Christy) Kemper of Genoa, NE; Ken (Gina) Schmitt of Wilber, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
