Barb A. Cox, 93, of Albion, NE, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Albion, NE.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025, at Levander Funeral Home, Albion, NE with Pastor Lynde Linde officiating. A private family interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home, Albion, NE.

Barbara Ann Cox, daughter of Ralph and Lorraine (Darling) Fitzsimmons was born March 9, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, NE. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, NE. Barb attended and graduated high school from Cedar Rapids with the class of 1949.

On November 7, 1949, Barb married Daniel W. Cox at the United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, NE. From this union she was blessed with three children. The couple lived and farmed southeast of Cedar Rapids, NE until 1952 when they moved to a farm east of Albion, NE. They then moved into town in 1980. Barb worked for Modern Fashions, Counsel Oaks, Coast to Coast, and in 1979 she started working at Wells Drug Store where she retired from in 2013.

Barb was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and was a part of the United Methodist Women's organization. In loving memory of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who graced this world for 93 glorious years. We celebrate her as the queen of the kitchen, where her famous chocolate cake reigned supreme! With a sweet tooth that could rival Willy Wonka's, she created homemade noodles and coffee cake that could brighten the grumpiest of days. Beyond the kitchen, she tended her garden with the same meticulous care she gave to her beloved collection of pigs and piggy banks – each filled with coins like treasures waiting for adventure. As a master of sewing, embroidery, and jigsaw puzzles, she taught us that life, like her meticulous Saturday cleaning routine, is all about the details – especially the crucial art of dusting ceiling fans and vacuuming under every piece of furniture! We'll forever cherish her laughter, her love, and her perfectly baked treats, sprinkled with a dash of delightful chaos and a pinch of pig-loving charm.

Barb is survived by her three children: Nancy (Ken) Cox of Las Vegas, NV; Kay (Vickie) Cox of Ankeny, IA; Danny (Diane) Cox of Albion, NE; three grandchildren: Dana (Sarah) Cox of Albion, NE; Amy (Tom) Lueken of Albion, NE; Margo (Jerry) Klassen of Lindsay, NE; seven great-grandchildren: Tristan, Braxton, and Kaylee Shively; Colby and Josie Cox; JJ Klassen; Cruz Lueken; along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Daniel Cox in 2008; brother: Donald Fitzsimmons; and sister: Carolyn Casper.
