Arlene Lavone Wilson was born on January 18, 1929 to Carl Ole and Anna Annette (Flotree) Schlanbusch in Tilden, NE. She attended country school at District #19 and graduated Salutatorian from Albion High School with the class of 1947. Arlene had a full ride college scholarship but didn't take advantage of it due to the passing of her mother three days after her graduation. She stayed to help her father on the farm and her first job was with the Boone County Attorney, Stan Olevarius.

Arlene married the love of her life, Robert True Wilson on December 27, 1950. They were married at Immanuel-Zion South Branch Lutheran Church right be fore he left for the Korean War. Arlene lived in Albion with her father during that time and then worked for the Farmers Home Administration USDA for eight years. Her first son Robert Carl was born in December 1955 and her second son Paul Jeffery was born in November 1958.

While raising her children she worked part time as the church secretary for Zion Lutheran Church in Albion until 1967. She then went back to work for the FHA for eight more years until she would have had to transfer to Neligh, NE. She then went to work in the County Clerk's office and was offered a position with the Nebraska Department of Social Services. She worked for them almost 20 years and was a social worker for 11 years of that time, retiring in February 1995 at 66 years of age.

Arlene served as Treasurer for the Ladies Aid at Zion. She was a Luther League Sponsor, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. Arlene enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and her Saturday morning coffee get togethers at her home. She and her husband Bob loved dancing, and their dance club. They enjoyed travel and especially their trip to Norway to visit family. She looked forward to getting together with friends for dinner and conversation. If you ever showed up to Arlene's, you never left hungry!

As Arlene put it, "it has been a very interesting and wonderful life, including all of the good days at Albion High".

Arlene is survived by her husband Bob of Albion, NE; and two sons: Bob (Sharlene) Wilson of Clay Center, NE and Paul (Carol) Wilson of Grimes, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
