Alvah "Alvie" E. Ranslem Jr., 92, of Albion, NE, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE, with Rev. Carolann Hopcke officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, NE with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #162, VFW Post #736, Army Funeral Honor Guard, and American Legion Riders. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.

Alvah "Alvie" Emerson Ranslem Jr. son of Alvah Emerson and Johanna Gerridina (Voskamp) Ranslem Sr, was born on December 6, 1932, at the family home in Loretto, NE. Alvie attended school at District 39 through the 8th grade and graduated from Albion High School in 1950. On April 7, 1953, Alvie was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on March 21, 1955.

On June 3, 1956, Alvie was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Hendrickson at Immanuel-Zion South Branch Church. To this union a son and daughter were born. They made their home in the Akron, NE area where Alvie farmed. In 1990 they moved to Albion, NE and Alvie continued farming until his retirement.

Alvie was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE. During his lifetime Alvie enjoyed farming, driving around in his little red car, Husker sporting events and car races. His biggest passion though was his family, and he loved to attend the events of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The last thing that he asked his family to remember was that they were all in his heart and that he will be forever in theirs.

Alvie is survived by his children: Alan (Karen) of Albion, NE; Anita Mitchell of Blaine, MN; six grandchildren: Lindsi (Mark) Lueken of Albion, NE; Derek (Michelle Nowak) Ray of Greeley, NE; Cassandra (Eric Brooks) Ranslem of Florida; Shayla (Taylor) Nelson of Albion, NE; Kylee (Blake) Olnes of Albion, NE; Joshua (Nikita) Mitchell of Big Lake, MN; nine great-grandchildren: Colten Ray; Carter and Alexa Lueken; Emilyn, Kaysen, and Castyn Nelson; Zaya Ray; Baby Boy Olnes; Asher Mitchell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Clark (Diane) Hendrickson of Alpine, CA; along with nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Carolyn; and brother: Gerald "Bud" Ranslem.
