Alice Marie Anderson

Alice M. Anderson, 87, of Lincoln, NE passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Tabitha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, NE. A long time resident of Albion, NE, Alice had been living with her daughter in Lincoln for the last five years.

A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday,  November 2, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Petersburg, NE with Pastor Ben Sosa officiating.

Alice was born February 7, 1937, to Bessie and Rolf Surdahl in Sweet Grass County, Montana. After graduating with her BSN from Madison Nursing College in Madison, Tennessee, in 1960 she worked at Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

In Denver, she met her husband E. Normen (Norm) Anderson while he was visiting a mutual friend. Alice and Norm were married on August 26, 1962. Together they farmed his family's farm east of Petersburg, Nebraska, that has been in the family since 1893. Alice worked as a registered nurse at Boone County Hospital. She also helped bring home health care to the region by starting a local satellite office out of St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska, and was a beloved caregiver for many patients.

She was an active member of the local Seventh-day Adventist Church and also served on the denomination's Kansas/Nebraska advisory board for many years.

She is survived by her daughter: Joeyln Tucker (Stephen) of Lincoln, NE; son: Milan Anderson (Audra) of Hickman, NE; granddaughters: Katie Tucker of Atlanta, GA; and Kristi Tucker Dobson (Kody) of Loma Linda, CA.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Norm, her sister and five brothers.
