Alan T. Rasmussen

Alan T. Rasmussen, 55, of Albion, NE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church, Albion, NE with Rev. Carolann Hopcke. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the church. Social distancing, and current Covid-19 DHM's will be followed at the visitation and funeral, and masks will be required.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Alan Todd Rasmussen, son of Gordon Rasmussen and Stella (Schmid) Landauer was born on October 8, 1965 at Newman Grove, NE.  He was baptized at Immanuel Zion Lutheran South Branch Church.  Alan attended school at Humphrey High School and graduated with the class of 1983.  Following high school, he started working on the family farm.

On April 5, 1986 Alan married Sharolyn Timmons at Platte Center, NE.  To this union three children were born, Sheena, Shawn, and Scott.  They lived northeast of Albion.  The couple later divorced.  Alan worked for Sentinel Buildings and Cargill, before he started hauling cattle for Trent Pauls trucking.

In 2016 Alan met the love of his life Joni Sliva, though their time together was short it was filled with many lasting memories and friendships.  In January of 2020 Alan began battling Guillain-Barre Syndrome and lost his ability to walk.  Through all of this he stayed positive and optimistic, and worked very hard at his goal to be walking by Christmas.

Alan was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE.  He is currently a sitting Boone County Commissioner and was just re-elected for a new term.  Alan has sat on many boards in the community and surrounding area.  His biggest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and he was the best papa.  Alan also enjoyed stock car racing and competing with his boys in iRacing.  He never missed one of his children's events, but also enjoyed spending time with them racing go-carts, horse riding, hunting, camping, and going on vacations.

Alan is survived by his mother Stella Landauer of Albion, NE; three children: Sheena Predmore of Newman Grove, NE; Shawn (Tayla) Rasmussen, and Scott (Anna) Rasmussen all of Albion, NE; girlfriend Joni Sliva of Albion, NE and her children: Morgan Scheffler of Pender and Mariah Scheffler of Richland, NE; nine grandchildren: Ciera, Korbin, Saige, Elsie, Corbin, Ember, Hoyt, Laramie, and Mylie; brother Steve (Janice) Rasmussen of Albion, NE; two nieces Theresa (Jason) Anderson and children Allie, Paige, and Cory; Rebecca "Becky" (Nathan) Nelson and children Brooke and Matt; along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mandy and Olga Rasmussen, Ernest and Fanny Schmid; father Gordon and stepfather Donald "Doc" Landauer.
